Where do you get the card data?

All card information, images, and prices come from the Scryfall API. Scryfall is a comprehensive Magic: The Gathering card search engine that provides high-quality card data, images, and pricing information.

            What is Scryfall?

            Scryfall is a free, community-supported database that indexes every Magic: The Gathering card ever printed.
            It's widely used by players, collectors, and developers for accurate and up-to-date card information.
        

What filters are you using?

We use several filters to ensure you get the best gameplay experience. Here's what we filter and why:

Cards We Include:

Paper-legal cards - Only cards that exist in physical form (no digital-only cards)
Normal layout cards - Standard single-faced cards that are easy to read and play
Cards with mana costs - Cards you can actually cast (excludes lands and special cards)

Cards We Exclude:

Tokens - These aren't cast from your hand
Funny cards (Un-sets) - Cards from joke sets like Unglued and Unhinged
Lands - Basic lands don't have mana costs
Double-faced cards - Cards that transform can be confusing for trivia
Adventure cards - Cards with multiple casting options
Promotional and memorabilia items - Special printings that aren't standard game pieces

Your Custom Filters:

You can further customize which cards appear using these filters:

Set Filter - Choose cards from specific Magic sets or expansions (e.g., only cards from "Foundations" or "Modern Horizons 3")
Color Filter - Select which mana colors you want to see:
- White (W) ⚪
- Blue (U) 🔵
- Black (B) ⚫
- Red (R) 🔴
- Green (G) 🟢
- Colorless (C) ⬜
Format Filter - Filter by format legality (Standard, Modern, Commander, Legacy, Vintage, etc.). This shows only cards that are legal in your chosen format(s)

Do you save any user data?

No, we do not save any personal user data on our servers.

            What we DON'T collect:

            Names, email addresses, or contact information

            Account information (no login required)

            Game history or scores on our servers

            Personal identifiable information of any kind

What stays on YOUR device:

Your current game session (lives, score, streak) - stored temporarily in your browser
Your filter preferences - saved in browser local storage for convenience
Keyboard shortcut settings - saved locally so you don't have to reconfigure them

All of this data stays on your device and is never sent to our servers. If you clear your browser data, these preferences will be reset.
